Marquardt increases EMC capabilities: Establishes E & C Testlab GmbH
Rietheim-Weilheim, 12th January 2012 – Marquardt has established a new subsidiary, E & C Testlab GmbH, located in Trossingen. They will provide measurements of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for the open market which are required, for example, in the automotive industry. In order to increase their capabilities, the E & C Testlab GmbH has taken over the successful EMC Lab Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, located in Tuningen, which was established by Anton Schuhwerk.
“E & C – it stands for Engineering and Certification“, says Thomas Schwarz, new General Manager of the E & C Testlab GmbH and Director of the central development of Marquardt in Rietheim. “Marquardt, as a supplier of the automotive, home appliance and electrical tool industries, has already had considerable experience with regard to the electromagnetic compatibility of switches and sensors. Now Marquardt would like to offer these capabilities to the general public”, says Schwarz. With the addition of the EMC Lab Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, not only is equipment increased, but it also allows an increase in individual activities. “Anton Schuhwerk, the former General Manager and owner of the EMC Lab Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg, wants to step back a bit. We want to strengthen his already successful business and therefore he will continue to be available to support us with his guidance and experience. We have long been bound by a successful business relationship”, says Thomas Schwarz. The employees from Anton Schuhwerk will also be transitioned to the E & C Testlab GmbH in Trossingen in the former premises of Hans Koch GmbH, henceforth 10 employees will begin their new mission.
The services of both EMC labs that have been offered thus far, will now be combined under a new company name and will continue to be increased and improved, so as to provide the customer with a full service operation. The services include development led EMC measurements, as well as the optimization of products and certified testing with respective testing reports. As General Manager Thomas Schwarz reports, “the technical and personnel capabilities allow us to attend to our customers in a faster and more extensive fashion than they may have been accustomed to in the past. We also want to continue to highlight the personal and individual service provided by our employees, in the same successful tradition as that of Mr. Schuhwerk.”
